L'Etranger au paradisDavid Rolland, Béatrice Massin, Anne de Sterk
Audio guided show in six acts
Having construction-set fun, eleven dancers (a different group at each performance) give 2D and 3D perspectives of geometric patterns on the floor. The lines on a metro map, overlapping squares and circles, and repetitions of simple grid patterns have their intrinsic logic revealed through choreography. The dancers are the perfect embodiment of the shapes, occupying them graphically with stylistic variations on walking: strolling, rushing, pausing and moving very slowly. From these movements joyfully combining order and disorder emerges the magic of the kaleidoscope. A one-of-the-kind show that is the result of an original collaboration between a Baroque dance specialist – Béatrice Massin – and a visual artist and sound poet – Anne de Sterk.
