This CCN Dance School course of technique classes and workshops teaches the cultural, poetic and creative dimensions of dance.

Gypsy Dance Course
Inspired by dances from around the world and the gypsy themes of travel and encounter, these courses introduce participants to a diverse and lively range of traditional music and choreography.
After studying at Rotterdam Dance Academy, Puck Heil completed her training with dance teacher and performer Olga Stens. A dancer, performer with various contemporary and Renaissance dance companies, choreographer and teacher, Puck Heil regularly leads international dance workshops. A holder of the National Teaching Diploma in Classical and Contemporary Dance, she has been a character dance teacher at the CCN Dance School since 1995.

This course based on Marius Petipa’s
Swan Lake explores the ballet’s contemporary impact by looking at adaptations by Matthew Bourne, Mats Ek and others. Taking a modern approach, it addresses the piece’s fundamental features, including duality, fluid arm movement, dancing on points, creating patterns on the floor, and animality. It considers how a universal work belonging to our cultural heritage continues to feed, stimulate and arouse creativity in young artists.
